Babar Azam's fan, Nabeeha Khan, has promised that she will gift her father's luxury car to the Pakistan captain if he scores a hundred today in the second T20I against England in Birmingham.
The British Pakistani Nabeeha became an overnight sensation after she approached Geo News in Birmingham after the dismal performance of the Pakistan cricket team in Birmingham in the final ODI in 2021. She wanted to share her frustration at the loss and how she had skipped her A-Levels classes to support Pakistan against England.
The young cricket fan urges the Pakistan team to win their match against England today at Edgbaston Stadium, Birmingham. She further added that her friends and family are very excited for this match.
“Despite being a medical student, I’m coming along with my friends and family to attend the match, today at Edgbaston Stadium. My father’s friend is especially coming from Qatar to watch this match between England and Pakistan," she said.
“Pakistan team should focus on playing and we have our eyes on them, and we just want them to please win the match, especially Babar Azam, please don’t disappoint us. We just want our team to win.”
Reading a couplet, she said, “Babar Azam tumhi umeed ho tumhi shan ho (Babar Azam you are our hope and prestige)”
“Babar Azam tum har Pakistani k dil ki jaan ho/ maan ho (Babar Azam you are every Pakistani’s soul and mind)”
“So please,” Khan requested the captain, “don’t break our hope and make our head hang in shame”.
It must be noted that Pakistan have won three matches out of their last five, while England have lost three and won two. This will be the second match of the series between England and Pakistan, following the washout in the first match in Leeds, England, on Wednesday, May 22.
